Tonight's game should be another high scoring affair between Florida Atlantic and Memphis. Both teams are very capable of putting up points in a hurry, while both defenses give them up in bunches!!! Quarterback Martin Hankins will be looking to hook up with Carlos Singleton, while Florida Atlantic Signal Caller Rusty Smith will be looking for Gent Cortez. Under Schnellenberger's tutelage, Smith has thrown
for 27 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. Charles Pierre who averages 4.6 yards per rush, will be able to keep the Memphis defense honest, while Smith continues to work the Florida Atlantic Magic that has seen them appear in their first bowl game!!! Looking at the schedules, the toughest team that Memphis faced all season may have been the Ole Miss Rebels, who beat them 21-23 to open the season. Florida Atlantic lost to Oklahoma St, Kentucky, South Florida, and Florida. What do all these teams have in common???? They are all in Bowl games. Even though Florida Atlantic lost each of these games, they were in a couple of them late in the games, and will have no problem matching up with one of the worst Defensive teams in the nation!!!
